Waxman Wants Blue Dogs To Heel, Signals Committee Bypass

The  health bill being over-zealously forced down the throats of the American people, by Nancy Pelosi,  is hinging on the ‘Blue Dog’ Democrats.  Pelosi said she is confident that the bill will pass, but I am beginning to think that even many democrats are concerned about the over eagerness to get this bill through Congress without proper reivew.  It’s almost as if they don’t really want us to have enough time to understand what’s in the bill!

Michelle Malkin reported on this today:

From Ian Swanson at The Hill:

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) says there is “no alternative” to having healthcare legislation bypass his committee if Blue Dog Democrats don’t agree to legislation.

Waxman said if the seven Blue Dogs on his panel do not relent, they could join with the committee’s Republicans to “eviscerate” healthcare reform.

“I won’t allow them to hand over control of our committee to Republicans,” Waxman told reporters.

Reuters:

The chairman of the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, Representative Henry Waxman, said on Friday he would let the full House by pass his committee on healthcare reform if the panel could not reach agreement on its version of the legislation.

Hurry, hurry, hurry!
