Mitt lays out a pretty good case for Ben Bernanke here. He states that Bernanke is not without mistake, but he is afraid Obama would appoint someone far worse. Neil told Romney he did such a good job he could be a “co-anchor.” As always, Mitt performed very well in this interview. He didn’t sound at all like a potential campaigner, but as someone who really cares about the country and the direction Obama is taken it. Let me know your thoughts.

Romney did very good job explaining why Bernanke should be confirmed even though he was far from perfect. The best reason was that if Bernanke was not confirmed, the person Obama might replace him with could be far worse!
Lori,
Exactly right.
yes .. I thought this was a GREAT interview. I thoroughly enjoyed his discussion on the merits of TARP and while it was not a great “political” move, it was the “right” thing to do for the country. And as the funds have been paid back, it was successful .. while nothing has been accomplished with the porkulous funds. Romney was hit hard for supporting TARP while ignorant politicians / Fox commentators (I think you know who I mean) berated him for it without knowing what they were talking about. So it was nice for him to have the last word on the subject. I also liked his response to Cavuto’s comment that he could be the one to have to deal with Barnanke a few yrs out .. lol!
.. while Romney didn’t state it outright, I think he understands that if Bernanke was not confirmed, Obama would have likely dithered (like he does on everything else) as to who would find as a replacement. The uncertainty that would bring would’ve been toxic to the business world .. with the assumption, of course, being that it would eventually be the absolute worst person possible.
Yes Crystal, that was great! Many, including Democrats, see Romney as THE “can do” guy.
Yes, I know exactly who you are talking about. That is what happens when you jump on the “hype” bandwagon. It shows a great shallowness of character to attack without understanding because everyone is doing.
