News out that Newt Gingrich will be attending an event with a top Democrat in South Carolina.

In one of the oddest twists of the Republican presidential primary campaign season, Newt Gingrich will attend an event in South Carolina on Thursday with one of the top Democrats in the state.

Having agreed to participate at a rally for the National Association of Home Builders, both Gingrich and House Assistant Democratic Leader James Clyburn, the No. 3 House Democrat who is from South Carolina, are scheduled to appear in front of the Statehouse building in Columbia.

Organizers say the event is aimed at demonstrating strong support for homeownership, which used to be the bedrock of middle-class wealth but is now the biggest single chunk of equity to have fallen out of Americans’ pockets.

They warn that unchecked proposals to try to clean up the housing market will harm the housing market even more.

Looks like the old Newt really never went away!  Will we be seeing Gingrich air an ad on a coach with this “Top Democrat”?

This post is a very welcome addition to the post I did a few days ago regarding the article from The Daily Beast detailing how Mitt Romney played a role in Scott Brown’s victory.  What I didn’t have at the time of that earlier post is the video or quote from Senator Elect Scott Brown thanking Mitt Romney for “being there from the beginning, and helped show us the way to victory.”

Here is the quote:

“I’m grateful to all those from across Massachusetts who came through for me even when I was a long shot. I especially thank a friend who was there with encouragement from the very beginning, and helped show us the way to victory – former Governor Mitt Romney.”

This is of course very contrary to what some of the wanna-be political analysts over at Race42012 have spouted out about how Romney was absent during the whole Scott Brown process.  One particular “commenter” who goes by the name of “Flip Dixon”(it is a mystery to me that they haven’t banned her from their site, along with some of their registered contributors), and who’s personality and attitude parallel that of Keith “The Viper” olbermann’s, suggested that Mitt Romney was absent during the Scott Brown campaign because the people of Massachusetts don’t like him.

If anyone on Race42012 is reading this, BAN THAT KEITH OLBERMANN WANNA-BE FROM YOUR SITE!  That is, of course, if you desire to avoid becoming a riff-raff site like Free Republic has become.  You keep letting these nasty characters spew their ignorance on your site, the less credible you will become.  I will praise you for having writers such as Nate Gunderson, Mark B. Lowe, Kristopher Lorelli, and others who avoid negativity when it comes to other GOP candidates.

I would tell them that if they want to act like Democrats in how they treat their own, they can go join the Democrat’s site’s and spew their filth over there.  By the way, Alex Knepper has come a long ways.  Kudos to him!

All of us in the GOP need to quit breaking Reagan’s 11th commandment of talking bad about other GOP candidates.  I have not done the best at that, as I do get defensive when Mitt is unjustly attack, but I will work on it.

This morning Governor Mitt Romney sent out the following message regarding the battle between Scott Brown and Martha Coakley for the Massachusetts Senate seat.  As President Obama and others on the left are making a desperate attempt to create a win for Martha Coakley, especially after the most recent polling which shows Scott Brown in the lead as well as endorsements coming his way, Governor Romney is asking for your help.

I will get right to the point. The Senate race here in Massachusetts is incredibly close and turnout is going to hold the key to victory.

The Democrats have a plan: Bring in paid union members from across the country to man phone banks and knock on doors, smear Scott Brown’s good name and record, and get Democrats to the polls. They are doing this because they know it is the only way they can win.

Listen, the Democrats can bring in all the hired guns that they like, but this is still the people’s Senate seat. There is simply no substitute for personal contact in a race this close. It is one thing to say you like Scott Brown. It is another to actually contribute your time to making sure that Scott Brown becomes the 41^st Republican vote in the Senate.

I want you to know that we have won big before in Massachusetts when people said it was impossible, and Tuesday we are going to do it all over again.

Could we witnessing a miracle in Massachusetts?  Really think about how important this election in MA is.  If Scott Brown is elected he could be that vote that stops Obamacare from passing through the Senate.  Furthermore, any Republican, regardless of his qualifications, would send a shock-wave through the rest of the nation that The People are not happy with the Job the Democrats are doing.

Why else would Obama, Biden and Clinton be campaigning for Martha Coakley?  Desperate times require desperate measures for the Democrats.  They know that if Scott Brown wins in MA it will not look good for them at all.  This will be the straw that breaks the camels back will proves his demise.

Scott Brown ahead in polls

The poll, conducted Monday through Wednesday, surveyed 500 registered likely voters who knew the date of Tuesday’s election. It shows Brown leading all regions of the state except Suffolk County.

“Either Brown’s momentum accelerates and his lead widens, or this becomes a wake-up call for Coakley to become the ‘Comeback Kid’ this weekend,” Paleologos said.

And with 99 percent having made up their minds, voters may be hard to persuade.

The poll surveyed a carefully partitioned electorate meant to match voter turnout: 39 percent Democrat, 15 percent Republican and 45 percent unenrolled.

Brown wins among men and is remarkably competitive among women – trailing Coakley’s 50 percent with 45 percent.

While Brown has 91 percent of registered Republicans locked up, an astonishing 17 percent of Democrats report they’re jumping ship for Brown as well – likely a product of Coakley’s laser-focus on hard-core Dems, potentially at the exclusion of other Democrats whom she needed to win over, Paleologos said.

For Coakley, Brown’s surge may be as ominous as the fact that her campaign’s peril is not fully recognized, with 64 percent of voters still believing she’ll win – a perception that threatens to keep her supporters home.

Brown’s popularity is solid. He enjoys a 57 percent favorability rating compared to just 19 percent unfavorable. Coakley’s favorability is 49 percent; her unfavorability, 41 percent.

No longer does Brown suffer from a name-recognition problem, with 95 percent of voters having heard of him statewide.

Just the other night I was sharing my strong feelings with a friend about the demise of the Liberals in The Senate  come 2010.  I think this video reflects my feelings, and the feelings of millions of Americans, Republican and Democrat alike.

I also heard two Democrat pollsters on Hannity’s radio show discussing Obama’s disastrous handling of his Presidency. They are predicting a tsunami at the polls in 2010. Both saying they have never seen people this angry!

Thank goodness the voters have awakened from their slumber and are now fighting back.
