Inside the numbers:

Romney holds a slight 45% to 41% lead over Obama among men. Among women, the president edges Romney 43% to 40%. Obama draws his strongest support from voters under the age of 40, while Romney leads among older voters.

Among voters not affiliated with either political party, Obama is ahead of Romney 39% to 33%. But 28% of these voters either favor some other candidate or are undecided.

Eighty percent (80%) of Tea Party members support Romney, but the president holds a 51% to 33% lead among voters who say they are not part of that movement. Obama captures 57% support from union members but is edged by Romney 44% to 40% among those who are not unionized.

Perhaps included in this “sleeping giant” theory is they chilling fact that Americans can be so deceived by charm and charisma that they forget to look for substance.

For some reason this phrase comes to mind:

“And thus he flattereth their souls and leadeth them carefully down to hell.”

Hopfully we have “awakened to a sense of our awful situation” and begin to be “up and doing” when it comes to protecting our American values, including who we choose to put into office.

Barack Obama is the best thing that has happened to America in the last 100 years. Truly, he is the savior of America’s future. He is the best thing ever.

Despite the fact that he has some of the lowest approval ratings among recent presidents, history will see Barack Obama as the source of America’s resurrection. Barack Obama has plunged the country into levels of debt that we could not have previously imagined; his efforts to nationalize health care have been met with fierce resistance nationwide; TARP bailouts and stimulus spending have shown little positive effect on the national economy; unemployment is unacceptably high and looks to remain that way for most of a decade; legacy entitlement programs have ballooned to unsustainable levels, and there is a seething anger in the populace.

That’s why Barack Obama is such a good thing for America.

Obama is the symbol of a creeping liberalism that has infected our society like a cancer for the last 100 years. Just as Hitler is the face of fascism, Obama will go down in history as the face of unchecked liberalism. The cancer metastasized to the point where it could no longer be ignored.

Average Americans who have quietly gone about their lives, earning a paycheck, contributing to their favorite charities, going to high school football games on Friday night, spending their weekends at the beach or on hunting trips — they’ve gotten off the fence. They’ve woken up. There is a level of political activism in this country that we haven’t seen since the American Revolution, and Barack Obama has been the catalyst that has sparked a restructuring of the American political and social consciousness.

Think of the crap we’ve slowly learned to tolerate over the past 50 years as liberalism sought to re-structure the America that was the symbol of freedom and liberty to all the people of the world. Immigration laws were ignored on the basis of compassion. Welfare policies encouraged irresponsibility, the fracturing of families, and a cycle of generations of dependency. Debt was regarded as a tonic to lubricate the economy. Our children left school having been taught that they are exceptional and special, while great numbers of them cannot perform basic functions of mathematics and literacy. Legislators decided that people could not be trusted to defend their own homes, and stripped citizens of their rights to own firearms. Productive members of society have been penalized with a heavy burden of taxes in order to support legions of do-nothings who loll around, reveling in their addictions, obesity, indolence, ignorance and “disabilities.” Criminals have been arrested and re-arrested, coddled and set free to pillage the citizenry yet again. Lawyers routinely extort fortunes from doctors, contractors and business people with dubious torts.

We slowly learned to tolerate these outrages, shaking our heads in disbelief, and we went on with our lives.

But Barack Obama has ripped the lid off a seething cauldron of dissatisfaction and unrest.

In the time of Barack Obama, Black Panther members stand outside polling places in black commando uniforms, slapping truncheons into their palms. ACORN — a taxpayer-supported organization — is given a role in taking the census, even after its members were caught on tape offering advice to set up child prostitution rings. A former Communist is given a paid government position in the White House as an advisor to the president. Auto companies are taken over by the government, and the auto workers’ union — whose contracts are completely insupportable in any economic sense — is rewarded with a stake in the company. Government bails out Wall Street investment bankers and insurance companies, who pay their executives outrageous bonuses as thanks for the public support. Terrorists are read their Miranda rights and given free lawyers. And, despite overwhelming public disapproval, Barack Obama has pushed forward with a health care plan that would re-structure one-sixth of the American economy.

I don’t know about you, but the other day I was at the courthouse doing some business, and I stepped into the court clerk’s office and changed my voter affiliation from “Independent” to “Republican.” I am under no illusion that the Republican party is perfect, but at least they’re starting to awaken to the fact that we cannot sustain massive levels of debt; we cannot afford to hand out billions of dollars in corporate subsidies; we have to somehow trim our massive entitlement programs; we can no longer be the world’s policeman and dole out billions in aid to countries whose citizens seek to harm us.

Literally millions of Americans have had enough. They’re organizing, they’re studying the Constitution and the Federalist Papers, they’re reading history and case law, they’re showing up at rallies and meetings, and a slew of conservative candidates are throwing their hats into the ring. Is there a revolution brewing? Yes, in the sense that there is a keen awareness that our priorities and sensibilities must be radically re-structured. Will it be a violent revolution? No. It will be done through the interpretation of the original document that has guided us for 220 years — the Constitution. Just as the pendulum swung to embrace political correctness and liberalism, there will be a backlash, a complete repudiation of a hundred years of nonsense. A hundred years from now, history will perceive the year 2010 as the time when America got back on the right track. And for that, we can thank Barack Hussein Obama.

“Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections,” Obama said. “Well I don’t think American elections should be bankrolled by America’s most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities. They should be decided by the American people, and that’s why I’m urging Democrats and Republicans to pass a bill that helps to right this wrong.”

The shot of the black-robed Supreme Court justices, stone-faced, was priceless.

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) stood up behind the justices and clapped vigorously while Alito shook his head and quietly mouthed his discontent.

Schumer and Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md) are trying to find a way to legislate around the Supreme Court decision.

“All you have to do is read the dissent, the four justices who said this will defintely open the floodgates to big corporate special interests. Anybody who thinks that’s not true is out of touch with the American political process.” Van Hollen said.

Van Hollen told POLITICO he expects to unveil the package in the next 10 days to two weeks.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) was glad the president called out the Supreme Court.
“He [Alito] deserved to be criticized, if he didn’t like it he can mouth whatever they want,” Weiner said. “These Supreme Court justices sometimes forget that we live in the real world. They got a real world reminder tonight, if you make a boneheaded decision, someone’s going to call you out on it.”

But one conservative legal expert took sides with Alito — at least on the substance of Obama’s comments.

“The President’s swipe at the Supreme Court was a breach of decorum, and represents the worst of Washington politics — scapegoating ‘special interest’ bogeymen for all that ails Washington in attempt to silence the diverse range of speakers in our democracy,” said Bradley A. Smith, chairman of the Center for Competitive Politics, in The Corner blog on Nationalreview.com.

Where does one even start in trying to respond to Barack Obama’s highly hypocritical, irresponsible, blame Bush, pander to independent and angry voters, and a veiled attempt to make Republicans look like the ones responsible for not taking care of the middle class speech?

Ahhhh! Let me just come down for a minute and say that I think that Obama’s far left policies, after campaigning from the center, have so deeply traumatized many who trusted him into office that it doesn’t matter what he says from this point on. He is in between a rock and a hard spot and the only thing that can save him is doing the right thing for America. But instead of taking accountability (he did have a passive admission that some of the criticism was merited, although not specific) he blamed Bush nearly the entire time by reminding us that he “inherited a crisis.”

Well, Mr. President, I don’t care how much you try to diffuse the damage you’ve done in the minds of those who so blindly trusted you….you’re not going to talk your way out of this mess. What happened in Massachusetts was NOT a warning from the people that you and your cronies in Congress better get your act together, as Howard Dean suggested it was with his psychological “jedi mind trick”, rather it was a clear statement from Americans that they are through with you and your party. All it takes is 1 year of your administration for people to wake up and smell the bull crap coming out of your mouth!

Many of us warned those who lack sound judgment that this, what we are seeing today, would be the outcome of your administration. We would have joyfully voted for Hillary over you. And as it has been leaked from some of your top aids that you spend time surfing the web reading articles and opinions peaces written about, which they also said affected your judgment, I hope you are reading this piece you unashamed deceiver of the people.

And how can you take a slap at Republicans for opposing the bill, indicating that THEY are the ones playing politics and suggesting that that is the reason the GOP won in Massachusetts, not because the people actually disagreed with you trying to shove a health care bill down their throats that they, The People who put you in office, highly opposed?? Do you really think that is what the angry voters who sent you the message in MA wanted to hear Mr. President? How can you play the saint, making Republicans look like the bad guys, when you wouldn’t keep your promise to make health care a bi-partisan issue? Don’t you remember all the promises you made on the campaign trail about expounding the health care bill on c-span?

You Pelosi and Reid wouldn’t even open to any Republicans. Did you notice during your hit piece on Bush that you challenged Republicans to provide you with ideas on health reform, as if they had none? Have you really been that busy apologizing for America that you were unaware of all the recommendations to take out the public option, take out the kickbacks and favors and to slow down so we could actually understand the full measure of the bill? No! In a manner that was very alarming, you tried to ram it through as if there were things in the bill you were afraid we, the American people, would find out about that shouldn’t be in there. This resulted in a huge loss of trust and a major withdrawal from our emotional bank accounts. WE DON’T TRUST YOU ANYMORE MR. PRESIDENT!

Some of us never trusted you, based on your own record and background, but many whom you fooled into voting for you in 2008 will not make the same mistake in 2012 -mark my words.

America isn’t in need of a President that shifts with the political winds, she needs one who will stick to his principles regardless of what the polls say. You’ve sold your soul in that you have not only made bad decisions for America, you have insulted your voters by insinuating that their decision in MA was not based on principle but on anger toward you, which you took as meaning you had to shirk responsibility in an attempt to restore yourself in their eyes. You judged wrong. These are the people whom you were supposed to give HOPE to. Instead, you have given them despair.

Look out for Mitt Romney in 2012.

Just when you think this President could not be more socialist than he is (he is bordering on communism…maybe he has yet to emerge in that area), he makes a “God Complex” like comment regarding something as essential and rightful to our existence as water!

Let us not forget that the main and recurring theme is centralized control. Obama does not believe that you and I, the citizens of this country, are capable to making the correct decisions for our country and our way of life and his goal is to take control of it. The intent our founders had in given us this divinely inspired document, The Constitution of The United States of America, was not to allow tyranny, in any of it’s evil forms, to take hold of our Free Society but to offer The People the right to “act for themselves and NOT to be acted upon.”

For this would destroy the whole plan of agency. And as the Constitution was drafted in a God fearing manner, men would become accountable for their own sins, or their own bad decisions and would be held accountable to reap what they themselves have sown. In learning these lessons, by sad experience, man would be less likely to repeat them again. As may be the case with electing Barack Obama President of the United States. But then we come to the rising generation and that vicious cycle wherein Liberal professors deliberately seek to manipulate the minds of our youth in an abhorrent and despicable manner. Barack Obama is united with their cause.

And now he wants to restrict the people of California’s water. I understand if there were a REAL drought. But a Government-made drought? Furthermore, Mr. President, why, with all the problems that we have at a national level are you injecting your socialist hands into the business of the State of California?? Buzz off and go do something effective for once, like maybe lower the spending budget by much more than $500 billion when we have a $3.5 Trillion deficit!

From John Loudon:

On Monday, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California will host a rare Congressional “Field Hearing“. A Congressional delegation will venture out of the beltway and actually devote time to a problem in our country. Better yet, they will be listening to real citizens. Sort of.

At issue is what residents are calling a government-made drought in the Central and San Joaquin Valleys of California. Legal and environmental regulations in the Endangered Species Act has resulted in the diversion of 200 billion gallons of water from the agricultural heartland of California into the Ocean. According to California farmer Rose Corona,

“Potentially over $20 billion of California’s $43 billion of agricultural revenue could be decimated in America’s greatest breadbasket as farmers lose their farms and residents are forced to import food from China. While the solutions are not simple, local government officials are not even able to attempt them.”

Two thirds of California’s water is in Northern California, but two thirds of the people live in Southern California. Over the last generation, a series of aquaducts and canals was built to divert some of the plentiful water in the North so that instead of raising the sea level (as Al Gore warns us is imminent) the fresh water will irrigate incredibly productive land. The five counties effected provide tens of thousands of jobs and a stunning $20 billion of food output.

So why would politicians in California, a state that is already bankrupt, do anything other that mount a united battle to find a solution? That is hard to say. Instead there are deep and often ugly divisions and battle lines such as radical environmentalist on one side and farmers and migrant workers on the other.

Officials are perplexed to find an explanation for the declining population of the delta smelt, a small bait fish. It is also true that the salmon industry is concerned. So it is understandable that regulators would force action. What is not understandable is why the game of man vs beast is tilted at every turn toward the beast.

Consider that the judicial solution holds that if the fish population is declining, we will leave more water in the river and see if that works. No one knows if it will. Maybe there is a chemical or biological explanation, but we will take a chance because the lives of fish are at stake.

So when a compromise solution is proposed, called the “Two Gates” project, that would restore water and possibly protect fish, the Obama administration’s Interior Secretary, Ken Salzar put the brakes on it. So we will experiment to put fish over people, but we will not experiment to put people over fish. How is that Hope and Change working for you?

As for the rest of us, the implications are huge, not just for our food bills, but for establishing the precedent of allowing the Federal government this level of control over water. When government takes your water, they take the value of your land nay, they steal the value of your land.

Missouri lost this battle over the last several years and unlike California, we have to drive hundreds of miles to find anything that looks like a desert. Nevertheless, the Government used the same Act to withhold water from the State after which the river is named, favoring the pallid sturgeon over farmers. Get the pattern?

Now consider for a moment that we are not just talking about California farmers, nor just our food supply, we are talking about who controls the food supply.

This area of California is some of the most productive in the Country producing nearly half of America’s produce including 55% or our asparagus, 90% of our strawberries and 100% of our olives. When the 35,000 unemployed residents of the region look for help at the food pantries they drive past idle asparagus fields to get their canned asparagus from China. So we depend on Islamists for oil and now China not just for cash but for food!

So residents of California, and really the rest of us, have no other hope than Congressional action. They need Congress to immediately pass Congressman Devin Nunes‘ Bill, the aptly named “Turn the Pumps on Act“. Amazingly, the legislation to help California out of this crisis is bottled up in Committee by a Californian–Nancy Pelosi. Nunes is asking his colleagues to sign the discharge petition. Is your Congressman on the list?

Although Rose Corona and others are pleased with the leadership of Congressmen Nunes and McClintock who have pursued the “Field Hearing” that will take place Monday, they remain angry about several points including:

Why the hearing is located in Los Angeles, over 200 miles from the effected area?

Why Democrats get five witnesses and Republicans only one?

Why was the “Two Gates” solution postponed indefinitely under the radar last week by the Obama administration?

Whether California’s Congressional Democrats are willing to move the majority Party in Congress to act?

Because the travel distance is such a strain on both the farmers and the concerned citizens in that area, Corona and other Pro-water coalition groups are calling on all Patriots and Tea Party Activists to come and show their support for a solution in two locations. A Town Hall meeting with Representatives Nunes, McClintock, McCarthy and Bishop (R-Utah) will be held on Monday:

8:30am-10:30am
Fresno City Council Chambers
2600 Fresno Street, 2nd floor
Fresno, CA 90012-2944

The Oversight Field Hearing will be held:

1:00pm
700 N. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA

If you will be anywhere in Southern California on Monday, please make one of the meetings. If you cannot, please be sure your Congressman is on the discharge petition. The administration that wants to control your health care, your energy and your bank, now wants to control your water.

Over the three major elections since the 2008 presidential election, Mitt Romney has a 3-0 record against Barack Obama when it comes to endorsing candidates that Obama has campaigned for personally.

As he builds political capital, Romney is setting himself up to be a formidable opponent in 2012.

Addendum by Ross at Mitt Romney Central
In an attempt to sort through the Massachusetts fallout, Politico offers its list of special election winners and losers:

WINNERS: Romney Inc.

While the former governor and presidential candidate himself was mostly absent from the campaign trail, Romney’s advisers were responsible for the strategic vision and execution that helped propel a little-known state senator to a historic upset victory.

The Romney loyalists, now part of the Boston-based consulting shop The Shawmut Group, crafted a series of memorable ads that underscored Brown’s everyday image, including a spot of him driving an old beat-up pickup that’s already an instant political classic. Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom, a former reporter, deserves special kudos for his ad imagery and media management, as do aides Beth Myers, Peter Flaherty and Rob Gray.

Not that I am against people having faith, or exercising faith, in accomplishing worthy and noble tasks, but one thing I cannot stand is “absoluteness,” especially when it has to do with the “you cants” because of such and such a reason” type of reasoning. Anyone can do anything they want because human potential is virtually unlimited.

But this is the main concern I have with “absolute” individuals -and I know many- is that when you ARE wrong, what does it say about your judgment?? These are people who are highly delusional. Why? Because in their “narrow-mindedness” they have failed to create an awareness of possible alternatives or to see “the bigger picture,” that they somehow put themselves into a state of mind that doesn’t offer them more resources or intelligence for being able see possibilities beyond what their narrow minds allow. Pretty shallow indeed.

Such is the case with Barack Obama. As you can clearly see in this video, Obama was very absolute that this health care bill was going to pass. Now his credibility is shot, and he failed(let’s not forget the democrats in MA and in Senate) to see the potential of a Republican winning the Senate seat which was occupied by the late Ted Kennedy, that was before declared anointed for a Democrat Senator only! By the way, kudos to Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for the almost non-recognizable, yet obviously profound help in showing Senator Elect Scott Brown the way to victory!

The left assumed that the Massachusetts seat was already theirs and they failed to work hard to keep it. Yes, the people sent a signal of discontent, but Martha Coakley sure didn’t campaign like it was possible she could lose. And now? The fate of the health care bill.

Three cheers to Barack Obama for breaking another promise to the American people and making it more likely that Mitt Romney will defeat him in 2012!

Oh, and just a side not -Huckabee says that Brown’s election in Massachusetts was bad for the GOP because it will cause Obama to move to the center. “The Huckster advocates voting for Dems so Obama will not notice and react.
This guy is overdosing on Twinkies. He is a certified Whack Job if he thinks Scott Brown is good for Obama and bad for the GOP! Futhermore, does this mean that Mike would rather see Obamacare take hold of this country?”

This may come as a shock indeed, but House Democrats are actually admitting to serious problems with their Health Bill. After months and months and hours upon hours of trying to adhere to Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama’s whims of ramming this health care bill through, the frustrations caused by the reality of why it isn’t passing are actually causing some honest introspection…maybe?

It’s kind of like Senator Charlie Rangel is saying, “it’s not going to get passed unless we do it the right way and the right way is to address and remove these ‘many different factions that have a stake in the matter.’”

What America is in desperate need of now is a cleanse. Not one of these types of cleanses, but a cleanse in congress. Get rid of the toxic filth that is plaguing our free society.

Here it is from Redstate:

“We’ve got a problem on both sides of the Capitol. A serious problem,” Ways and Means Chairman Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) said Tuesday evening.

The difficulty in hashing out an agreement between the two chambers is largely due to there being so many different factions with a stake in the matter, Rangel said. “Normally you’re just dealing with the Senate and they talk about 60 votes and you listen to them and cave in, but this is entirely different,” he said. “I’m telling you that never has 218 been so important to me in the House.”

Another senior House Democrat familiar with negotiations on the bill said no progress has been made this week on any of the key sticking points in the House and Senate bills, despite steady meetings with union leaders and the White House.

“There’s no agreement. No deal on anything. Nothing,” the lawmaker said.
