….one of our readers seems to think so, and makes a pretty good case for it. Marco Rubio has an all around appeal to Social Conservatives, Hispanics, high approval ratings and he would definitely excite the base. Craig Bradford says:
As a minor elected official in California, a retired Veteran, and a staunch Conservative Republican, I strongly believe that Marco Rubio must be Mitt Romney’s choice for a running mate. Senator Rubio would give the Executive Branch a special connection to all Latinos at a critical time when the United States is faced with many tough challenges relating to Cuba, Mexico, and our Latin American neighbors. He is the complete package of adept politician, natural leader, humble public servant, and articulate communicator. Wise beyond his years, Senator Rubio would be the perfect Catholic complement to our Mormon Presidential candidate that would provide the strength Governor Romney needs to reunify the Free World politically and rejuvenate the United States and its allies economically. I further believe he is destined to be the President of the United States one day. I’m quite sure that Governor Romney is considering this option, but please make an effort to ensure that he receives these comments as a subtle nudge from the West.
What do you think?

Very well articulated. I could not agree more. At first I thought we would need a John Bolton, or someone with a strong foreign policy. But the more I watch and listen to Senator Rubio, the more I am convinced that he really needs to be Romney’s VP choice.
Romney will run with Puerto Rico governor Luis Fortuno. (Just between you and me.)
Copp, you think so? Why so?
Take a look at a ReasonTV interview on youtube with him and you’ll see the Romney fit perfectly. He’s got way more hands on experience than Rubio. Other than that there’s way more political “gas” in the choice. A statehood referendum on election day to begin with. The huge and often overlooked stateside Puerto Rican vote that will be energized in one day etc etc. He also looks and speaks more “Latino” than Rubio. It makes Mitt “daring not boring”. The media will be totally silenced on the racial “coolness” issue. The Republicans will snag half the Hispanic vote in one day. Need more? Mainly the guy has got the goods. Much like Mitt. Watch the interview and do some research. You’ll understand.
Also, watch Mitt’s speech to that Hispanic Leadership thing a few days ago. (Was it the day Fortuno came out for Mitt – last Friday?) Mitt’s wild about the future for us being in economically and politically engaging South America. China and Europe as a theme is “outdated” Mitt said. He was very excited about this idea and a Fortuno choice just gets the whole plan off the ground with a BANG! Watch that speech, watch Mitt’s enthusiasm, watch Fortuno, put it together. “Success is achieved by studying hard, working hard …. and maybe a little luck” Fortuno..
Will Copp, do you have a link?

Copp, you are a thinker. Great comments. I can hardly wait to see who he picks!
Thanks Copp, I love this speech…didn’t get to see it live:
Mitt Romney supported and campaigned for Marc Rubio in his run for the Senate. What exactly has Rubio done for Mitt Romney in his run for the White House? Nothing.
