Roanoke College

  • Democrats – 36% -1
  • Republicans – 27% -9
  • Independents – 28% +10

In an unbelievably skewed poll by Roanoke College, we see numbers that have Republican Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney, and trailing President Obama by 8% and Democrat Senate Candidate Kaine leading Republican Allen by 10%. The real numbers tell a much different story. Republicans are highly under-sampled and Independents are highly over-sampled.. The number of Democrats was a n accurate number, however, when you under-poll Republicans by 10%, you get a skewed outcome. In my analysis, we see Obama receiving 44% of support while Romney garners 45%. A change in leader of the state and shows that this state is still well in play. Under this analysis, Kaine still leads Allen at 45% to 43%.

ARG

  • Democrats – 39% +2
  • Republicans – 36% +0
  • Independents – 25% -2

In this poll be see a slightly skewed outcome. Instead of a 2-point advantage for the President, we would see a 48% tie between the President and Gov. Romney.

  • Democrats – 38% +1
  • Republicans – 35% -1

This poll is within a reasonable margin to be deemed accurate for both the Senate and Presidential Races. Obama leads Romney, 46% to 44% (within the margin of error) in the Presidential Race while Kaine and Allen are tied at 44% for the U.S. Senate race.
