This is great news for Mitt. Not such good news for Sarah Palin. It looks like she is a polarizing figure even within the GOP. I imagine her negatives with mods, indies and libs are sky high right now.

Given these numbers, do you think she hurts Mitt as a VP even?

Claire- “Given these numbers, do you think she hurts Mitt as a VP even?”

I think she hurts Mitt as a VP period. Especially with Indies and Mods. As competent as Mitt is, his supporters, and potential supporters, would lose respect for him as they know he only made her his VP choice to win her base.

With Palin’s disapproval numbers, Mitt would be insane to choose her. She is not very articulate and does horrible in interviews. It is hard to follow her when she speaks.

I really love Palin as a person, but not so hip on her as a Presidential/VP candidate.

No party for me! I was a Democrat until Barry Goldwater.
Then a Republican until Americas contract with a Republican
Congress. Since that time I do not claim a party. Just pure
unadulterated conservative and there is no one conservative
enough for me to make a big howl about. Sarah Palin is
the first breath of fresh air in many years. I wish her well!

    Jim,

This site was created to promote “competent” conservatism. George Bush was suppose to be the most conservative, but he was not the most competent. I like President Bush, but in these times we need competence. Sarah Palin is not so much that. Conservative, yes, but not real competent….at least not the most competent. I do wish her well, but I don’t think she will win.

I don’t care how conservative someone is, playing”loosy goosy” is not a wise move in politics. Getting in the mud with the media, constantly, is not a move that will prove to be tactical wisdom. And shouting that Obama’s health plan is “downright evil” will not help without laying out a detailed plan or at least articulating why the plan is evil. Shouting out sound bites that rile up the emotional is not a wise political move to the sensible.

I do like her(loved her convention speech) but would not want her as a Presidential nominee. Many conservatives feel this way. Romney has won the straw poll at CPAC for the past 3 years. He is conservative, or else he would never win that poll.
