There was and is only one true Reagan and that was Ronald Reagan himself. Truly much has been said throughout this campaign about how much Newt Gringrich loves to compare himself to Reagan and how he would use Reagans Principles when he becomes President (If he ever does!). While they did serve at the same time, Gingrich as a Representative from Georgia and Reagan as President from California, there is just a couple of differences that contrast from Gingrich being a true Reaganite, and Mitt Romney.
Lets take a look back. When Ronald Reagan served as Governor of California he like Romney had to work with a Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate. Now you see this is usually when the differences die down and the momentum goes back to the Gingrich side, but wait there’s more! While also Gingrich has said that he’s a presidential historian and that his experience working in the private sector will help America, this is where he’s finished. Quoting my Political Science professor, “In history of the Presidency, majority of the time Presidents before hand served as Governors of a state.
Usually the reason that happens is because of the experience of running state functions and managing a budget while compared to let’s say the House or the senate of the United states which Vote on measures rather than managing a state.” In other words, saying that Newt Gingrich is a true Reaganite is like saying John Kerry is the next JFK (Which is all false). To make it short and simple, Both Reagan and Romney both served as Governors of their respected states, while both worked with Democratic legislatures, while Gingrich has never served as an executive director with the other side of the aisle.
The message is clear, calling Newt Gingrich a true Reaganite, is completely out of tone and out of touch. It’s clear who the true Reaganite is, and that man is none other than Mitt Romney, who I believe just like my other all time role model Ronald Reagan did, is turn this country around and have Americans believe in it again. Just like in context what Romney has preached, you don’t have to believe in your government to be a good citizen, you just have to believe in your country!

Good article, Pete. I agree with your conclusions. My only recommendation is to add paragraphs to make it an easier read. Keep up the good work!
Kim, thanks. This was Pete’s first time using WordPress blog software and he wrote his article in the html area instead of the normal editing area, so even if you use spaces it won’t come out spaced. He’s going to do well!
Thanks Spence, and Kim thanks for revamping it. I look forward to continue working to get Mitt Elected!
