Charles Krauthammer: Mitt Romney Best Candidate Against Obama in 2012

Charles Krauthammer and Kristen Powers say that Romney is the best candidate to go against Obama in 2012.  Kristen states that he would be “the best candidate in 2012.”  Note that she didn’t say “the best to go against Obama”, but THE best in 2012.”  She also points out that she feels that he would have a hard time getting out of the primary because of the Evangelicals,”  such a sad shame.  Can it be said then that Evangelicals are to blame for Obama being in the White House today?

Will it be said that Evangelicals will be the reason Obama stays as POTUS for another 4 years if they are successful at keeping Romney out?  What are your thoughts on how we can help Romney overcome this hurdle?

I am so sick of this religious judgment from one religion to another….Could we look at one’s record? How one lives his or her life? How they walk day by day? Who they associate with? What awards or public recognition they have as accomplishments? Do a bit of thinking, soul searching? Make a list of positives…and A list of negatives…then decide… Who would best lead America…with mature, thoughtful, strong, constitutional decisions for America’s future..Bold and a tough taskmaster is necessary at this time of terrorist’s threats..America and the world has to respect our leader…How America is seen is from the top down..It is like, if you will, TOUGH LOVE…walk softly, bur carry a big stick…Mitt Romney is quality through and through..Please judge him on merits, not his religion…Romney 2012….

Paulee, it is frustrating indeed that we have the amount of bigotry in our party that we do. I don’t even think the Democrats are capable of bigotry at this level. It tends to be the “Jesus freaks”, not the real Jesus followers that do not know how to love as He loves. But we have to ponder on WHY it is that this un-Christlike behavior exists in a party that is predominantly Christian??

Well did the Lord say in Isaiah that in the latter days there will be many who “draw near to me with their lips but their hearts are far from me.” Among the Christians, unfortunately, we have more Pharisees than we do actual Christians.

Let me tell you how much I love David and Nancy French over at Evangelicals for Mitt. What good Christian folks they are! http://www.evangelicalsformitt.org/front_page/because_of_the_evangelicals.php

Paulee and Spencer, you guys have the ability to see things as they really are and stand up tall enough to tell the truth. Hooray for you! \"Pharisees\" is clearly what the prejudiced thousands of Evangelists have become. They operate way outside of the Christian box, and they are principally responsible for Obama being in office today. For the good of this country, all Evangelists out there need to drop religious bigotry as a non-Christian practice and embrace the best Presidential candidate for 2012. It is not Governor Huckabee. I lost all respect for him during the election and haven\’t recovered since. He unethically led the charge in eliminating Romney from the race early in the process on the sole basis of Romney\’s religion. Shame on Huckabee and those who participated with him. \"Evangelists for Romney\" have it right, and may God bless them for their clear vision.

As I face some trials in my life, I find myself burying myself in Mitt’s cause, cause I feel as an American we must speak the truth…I will always stand on that…Honesty and truth…. I, like you cannot be kind to Gov. Huckabee…..Thank you so much for your kind comments….USAF Col. (ret.) Bradford….I feel so proud of your comment …My maiden name is Bradford…I think your son in law knows this…but I just felt a sense of belonging and importance when I saw your name….My Dad was an Army guy…Floyd Bradford…deceased…I think it is wonderful that you post here…good for you…YOU tell ‘em…..a little secret….I am a not a Mormon, but I have grown to totally respect this religion…You have a wonderful Sabbath….you are a true American Patriot…thank you!!!!! Warm regards, Paulee

I will make my judgments about Mitt Romney because of his work ethics and merits because of his religion. That is what made the man. Through his maturation in the LDS faith he has had daily and weekly reminders of such things as; kindness, being respectful, having self restraint, giving of himself to elderly needs, and being diligent in the Lord’s work here on earth. I stand behind his morals, faith, values, work ethics, and most of all, his religion. It is definitely time to get honesty back in the White House. We can start at the top and work down. I’m sure after watching this government give our tax dollars away to people that do not need it, that Obama is as transparent as he said he was. He just got it backwards, Robin Hood he ain’t. Rob

Mel, the poll numbers are showing us that you are not alone. What Mitt has is what people will be desperately seeking for. I think that in order for America to elect a Mormon it needed to be suffering in a manner that Mitt can help with.

There are things I like about Mitt, there are some things I don’t like. As a Christian, one thing that never really came into my mind personally was “Boy, I don’t think I can vote for a Mormon”. During the 2008 campaigns, he seemed to be too much of a “slick rick” with smooth talking, but I wasn’t sure he believed all he was saying. Like when he says the “schools are failing the kids”… I’ll agree that many schools ‘fail’ their children by not doing their best, but I think the students also fail the schools by not doing their best. I think schools can put good teachers and accurate textbooks ahead of “brand new buildings”, but that’s just me. I’m a fan of charter schools and often, they’re a better alternative to public schools unfortunately. The government is usually the PROBLEM, not the solution.

Keenan, it has always been quite obvious that Mitt means that we are too dependent on oil, especially foreign oil. What happens if we have an oil crisis? What then? If we hadn’t become so dependent on it then we would work to create alternate sources of energy.

Governor Romney is, in my opinion, an extraordinary man of profound intellect with the ability to carry out his solutions (wich he has expressed on various occasions!), if we will only give him a chance! Go Mit, go…2012.

Its too bad candidates can’t run on their records and maintain their integrity during the political process. I think the real problem is that elections are so expensive, candidates are forced to pander for funds unless they are a Meg Whitman whose money didn’t help her. Americans can, hopefully, see integrity but so many are deluded by the “good ol’ boy” that they miss the real essence of the person. Perhaps Mitt has that essence, certainly most of the other candidates in the GOP don’t except, of course, for the Trump(er). Carnival barkers never had it so good.
